Turn off all the modem and router for 1 minute, then turn it on. Perform Refresh Internet Content. If other Internet Video apps are working, there may be a problem with the link between your device and Netflix. Follow these steps to re-link your device with Netflix: Unlink your Netflix account from your Internet video device. Select the link below that best meets your situation: How to remove a device that is linked to a Netflix account.
Access Netflix channel on your Internet video device. If the issue is still not resolved, perform a factory reset. I've gotten to the point of doing factory reset already on 2 of the 3 TVs the 3rd I'm just to lazy to do since it didn't work on the first one Email support now has an engineer looking into this, not sure if it's a cop out and hope people give up because that looks like the exact same response that people got in Jan when they were chasing this up.
Unfortunately I do think this is a matter of too bad so sad and we just have to deal with it. Shame when it seems like a fairly common problem. Never have had this problem. Netflix crashes every time I try to watch something now, done everything except factory reset because My ultimate solution completely solved this.
Often taking 5 attempts before working. The CC solution seemed irrelevant to me as it was always turned off. Refreshing Internet content and restarts seem to have no impact. I'm assuming there was some stale session value that was causing a conflict. The sign-out solution on worked for a day.
Back to the same old lousy issue. Just a bit of a pain logging in once a day. But better than watching repetitive failures Clearly the App is havign problem with session data. Why that's got much worse in the last month is unclear. Last firmware update was 9 months ago, so this is an App issue. I have the same issue with my tv and BR player. Will never buy another sony product again. I just keep refreshing internet content blindly at present, and have no idea what app version I have.
I have the latest firmware. I have an XE. Netflix is either crashing, or saying that there are errors. I've called Sony 3 times for various issues I've had for this TV Netflix crashing, audio cutting out randomly for half a second here and there, and as well the TV just completely freezing and needing to be unplugged I have been pushing for answers as to why, when the Sony CS rep told me that if I'm not happy with the TV and these issues, I should try to return it to the store.
Which is what I am going to do. Never again, Sony. I am having the exact same issue I bought my TV in December and from day 1 there has been an issue with the Netflix, at first I put it down to my broadband as where I live the broadband can be quite poor however the issue is that the TV Only on Netflix App completely freezes no buffering just simply freezes, the remote may as well be a brick as that won't work even using the reset button on the side of the tv doesn't work,I have to completely unplug it.
I have spoken with Sony who have sent me a USB with the latest software. NOPE,No good still does it. I have a PS4 hooked up to the tv no issues at all, as I said earlier in the post my wifi signal can drop and when it does you get the netfix message stating having trouble please try later or the buffering image appears.
There is clearly an issue with the app on sony Tv's, but they don't seem to want to admit to it as the customer support keep asking me to do the same things. Check network status.
Clear the cache and data of the streaming app. If the streaming app you use has an account login, sign out and then sign back in to the app. Make sure the TV software has been updated to the latest version. Reset the TV to the original factory settings.
